Elephant9 with Reine Fiske at Kongsberg Jazz Festival

The third of seven shows being presented by All About Jazz, in collaboration with the Kongsberg Jazz Festival and Music Export Norway, under the banner Doing It Norway.

Since its 2008 Rune Grammofon debut Dodovoodoo, Elephant9 has cemented a reputation as an uncompromising keyboard-based power trio that begins where the late Tony Williams' seminal Lifetime Band left off, but with its own take on electrified jazz. Keyboardist Ståle Storløkken may write the lion's share of E9's material, but it's an egalitarian group all the way, its voice an exciting combination of Storløkken's thrilling Hammond organ and Fender Rhodes , Nikolai Hængsle Eilertsen's pulsing bass lines and Torstein Lofthus' thundering kit work....

For this show, Elephant9 expands to a quartet with Swedish guitarist Reine Fiske, whose star has been on an upward trajectory with Dungen and The Amazing, gaining a reputation as the Swedish Jimi Hendrix/David Gilmour from The Gear Page.
